Upper Poudre Canyon Community

Welcome to our neck our the woods!
We would like to welcome you to the Upper Poudre Canyon and introduce you to ongoing events and organizations in the canyon that may interest you.

Upper Poudre Canyon Association (UPCA)
UPCA meets once a month on the second Monday of each month. We begin with a pot luck meal followed by a meeting. Many times we will end the evening with some type of programs, such as a presentation from the Colorado Division of Wildlife, or the Forest Service. In the past community members and the fire department have presented programs as well. For the potluck, each person brings a dish to share and their own table service.  UPCA provides the beverages. Dues are currently $15 per individual and include a monthly newsletter.
Being a member is a great way to socialize with other canyon residence and keep up on what’s happening in the canyon.

Craft Fair/Quilt Show
The craft fair is a fundraiser put on by UPCA members. It is generally held in August. Money is made through fees charged to crafters for booths, the bake sale, the barbeque lunch, and a raffle of a quilt made by the Peacemakers quilt group. Contact Joe 881-2343 or any of the UPCA board members.

“Go Fish” Bridge Group
If you like to play bridge or would like to learn to play, you will enjoy our Tuesday night bridge group. Although several members have been playing for years, beginners are always welcome. It is a friendly card playing environment. Each player pays $1, per night and you may bring snacks to share, but that is not required. Contact: Orin at 881-2142

PeaceMakers Quilters Group
All ladies are invited to join the Peacemakers Afternoon Tea, on Tuesdays from 1-3 p.m. at the community building. You don’t need to be a quilter, its fine to just come and bring any project you’re working on, or just come to visit. Contact Janet at 881-2465, or Jan at 881-3545

Men’s Coffee
All men are invited to participate in weekly coffee, each Tuesday morning at the community building. Coffee is on at 10 am and you may bring snacks to share, but it is not required. This is an informal get together to socialize and find out all the happenings in the canyon. Contact Chuck at 881-2465

Poudre Canyon Fire Protection District
If you live in the Poudre Canyon then we may be your neighbor. We are some of the residents of the Poudre Canyon that respond to Fire, Medical, MVA's, Smoke Reports and to our neighboring communities when they need additional help. When 911 is called it's this team that responds first and stays till the job is done. We are both women, men, young and senior. We all have many skill sets and together we make up the Poudre Canyon Fire Protection District. We are all volunteers and some of us have full-time jobs in town or in the canyon. We respond seven days a week, 24 hours every day. NO matter! Besides doing the normal responses, we also do much in the community for fire mitigation (slash pile burns) home and property inspections, urban interface meetings, wildfire protection plans and much more...
We are always looking for additional volunteers to do any number of tasks.  Just because you may not be able to or have a desire to fight fires, don’t think you can’t help.  Contact Hugh at 881-2472 or Greg at 881-2202.

Poudre Canyon Chapel
A fellowship of year-round residents and summer visitors meets every Sunday at 10:45 from Memorial Day weekend to the end of September.  Ministers from various faiths rotate preaching duties, and many guest musicians fill the chapel with worshipful sound.  There are also Christmas and Easter services, and a special Christmas musical held on a Saturday in the holiday season.  Contact Paul at 881-2614

Community Building Rental
The community building can be rented for special occasions. Contact Jan 881-3545.
